Gravimetric
In gravimetric feeding, dry bulk material or liquid is fed into a process at a constant weight per unit of time since weight is a variable that can be captured by a weighing module. Consistent control and complete monitoring are possible. In principle, gravimetric feeding combines monitoring of the feeding process with a feedback loop that enables accurate material control.

Gravimetric feeding for varying density, material handling automation, long term accuracy, repeatability and quality documentation, and where dust control is a concern.
Precise volumetric feeding of free flowing bulk materials, e.g. pellets & granules. The feeder can be upgraded to a loss-in-weight feeder system at any time.
The Microfeeder and Compact loss-in-weight feeders are optimized for laboratory applications, pilot projects, or feeding minor ingredients with high accuracy and recipe repeatability. Use the Microfeeder for feed rates as low as 0.04 dm/hr (0.0014 ft/hr). Use Compact Feeders for any low feed rate application where space is limited and high accuracy and recipe repeatability are required.
Gravimetric feeding at higher feed rates or where low headroom is a problem. Especially at high feed rates, a weigh belt feeder offers lower initial cost than a loss-in-weight feeder with equal throughput.
For high accuracy gravimetric feeding of liquids. The complete liquid loss-in-weight system (feeder, scale, pump, piping) is available in special skid mounted designs which are completely portable for movement throughout the plant.
Coperion K-Tron Systems Group specializes in designing and integrating both liquid and powder loss-in-weight systems for applications such as extrusion.
Metering, monitoring or totalization of bulk material flows, or as feeder in high rate applications.
Compact design and low space requirements allow four to six feeders with Coperion K-Tron vacuum receivers to be easily grouped around an extruder inlet. A wide variety of standard feeders, including the Bulk Solids Pump (BSP), can be integrated onto the K4G single-point weighing system.
The K4G Continuous Gravimetric Blender System was designed with the specific requirements of the plastics processing industry in mind. The compact design and low space requirements of the K4G integrated system allow four or six feeders with integrated vacuum receivers to be easily grouped around an extruder inlet. Single stations are also available.
